Handmade bag made of cotton and leather. Traditionally made by artisans from
Chiapas, Mexico. Traded fairly.

This bag was made in different regions of Mexico. The manufacturing process
takes place in 3 stages:

Indigenous women from Chiapas use the belt weaving machine to weave the
fabrics with traditional symbols and colors. The threads are made of cotton.
The technology was used in Mexico before the colonial era and is passed on from
generation to generation.
In the second step, handbags, purses and cases are made from the bags in San
Cristóbal de las Casas. In addition, embroidery is sewn onto the products by
hand and sewing machine.
Leather handles, buckles and metal straps are then attached in the Mexican
city of Léon.

The elaborate production using traditional methods is time-consuming, but it
produces a product of exclusive quality and durability. Each bag is 100%
handmade and unique.

This product is traded fairly. With a purchase you support the maintenance of
the special handicraft traditions. Since it is a handmade, unique piece, small
deviations from the product shown are possible.
