Amihan is the northeast wind, but also a common term for the breeze.

Painstakingly handwoven by our indigenous artisans in Iloilo, this gorgeous
dome shaped banig bag will make your outfit stand out in a breeze. It is made
from palm leaves, not textile. An arduous and very tedious process, banig
weaving requires hard work, determination and patience from the “manugbanig”
(the artisan who weaves the banig).

This handmade banig top handle bag features a tapered style with two zippers
for ease of opening/closing and has very sturdy hand carved scalloped wooden
handles. It is fully lined and has an inner pocket for cards or IDs. It
measures approximately 12 inches at its widest part, 9 inches at the base x 9.5
inches width x 5.25 inches height. It’s the perfect accessory to add a little
touch of our “island life” to your style.

The handcrafted nature of this product will produce differences in design,
sizing and weight. The appearance, colors, and “imperfections” of the banig are
as intended by nature. Variations occur from piece to piece. Please handle with
care. There’s only ONE piece per item so each one is truly unique!

With every purchase from Voyage Trouvaille, you assist us with supporting the
livelihood of indigenous artisans to help provide for their families,
especially during this difficult time. We also donate to local (USA) and
international charities that aid the less fortunate with food and hygiene
