Antique sterling silver pill box was made by Dominick & Haff, c. late 1800’s.
Beautifully crafted repoussé top has a border of leafy scrolls, accented by
tiny flowers. Monogram center features exquisitely engraved letters “NFK” or
“NKF” depending how you order the initials. The styling is superb!
Top is nicely fitted and stays in place. Interior is bright. Could be used for
many purposes, including as a ring holder. Exterior has patina on the top
highlighting the elegant style. Bottom has spotty patina (polish to taste).
Trinket holder has fine scratching from age and use.
MARKS: STERLING, 1 (craftsman number?, style number?), and the trademark for
Dominick & Haff (New York, NY 1868-1928). They were known for their superb
craftsmanship, including finely made hollowware and flatware. They were
eventually absorbed into Reed & Barton.
SIZE: 1-5/8” across x ½” high. WEIGHT: 21.1g (.74 oz)
